Busto da República - Tal como o busto com a mesma alegoria, de Tomás da Costa, esta cabeça da República, da autoria de Francisco Santos, foi executada para o concurso promovido pela Câmara Municipal de Lisboa em 1910. Vencedora sobre as propostas de Costa Mota (sobrinho) e de Júlio Vaz (respectivamente premiadas com o 2º e 3º prémios), veio, porém, a ser mais tarde preterida pela de Simões de Almeida (sobrinho), quando esta última foi profusamente difundida para fins propagandísticos oficiais em medalhas e moedas.
Lamentável apenas que o símbolo, assim como a República, seja actualmente tão pouco respeitada.
